Dashboard Edit Mode
Edit Mode makes available the options for editing components of the page. By default, the Dashboard is not in edit mode. By click the button, the Edit Mode enables the following options:
- Add New Widget – Add widgets to your dashboard (permissions determine the widgets available).
- Edit Dashboard – Configure the layout of your dashboard (number of widgets displayed in each row).
- Add/Remove Widgets – Modify widgets that display on your dashboard (change content, move position, remove from view).
- Save Changes – Allow saving of person dashboard changes
- Undo Changes – Discard current changes and revert to current dashboard.
Add New Widget
To add a new widget to the dashboard page, the dashboard is required to be in edit mode.
To make available editing options, click the Edit Mode button in the right corner of the Dashboard title bar.

Add a Widget to Your Dashboard
You choose the widgets that you want to see…
1. If the dashboard page is not in edit mode, click the Edit Mode button on the Dashboard title bar.
2. In dashboard edit mode, click the Add button on the Dashboard title bar to open the Add New Widget.
3. Click a widget title to select it.
Note: Names of widgets and number of available widgets may be different than the example.
The Add New Widget dialog box will close and the widget will be added to your dashboard.
Widgets showing status
Widgets such as My Requests and My Tasks contain a list of those items to which you are assigned and for which the status is incomplete.
The widget list will identify each item with metadata (information) such as number, title, priority, date, and status. The ID (item number) and Title columns are hyperlinks, from which you can open the selected item's detail page.
Widgets showing summary data
Widgets such as New FOIA Requests and Active FOIA Requests by Queue display cumulative content as a bar chart or graph. See the examples below.
To see the numeric value that a section of the bar chart represents, move your cursor over the chart. A hover box will show the number and then the user can click the bar, which will redirect them to the correct queue in the Queues Module.
Other functional widgets
Your organization might make available widgets from other sources, such as websites, weather, news, or other RSS feeds.
Edit Widget Configuration
You can modify basic elements of the widget display–change its title or the number of items that display on a page. Options available depend on the widget content and access permissions.
1. If the dashboard page is not in edit mode, click the Edit Mode button on the Dashboard title bar. The control buttons become available on the widget title bar.
2. Click the Edit Widget Configuration button on the widget title bar.
The edit widget dialog box opens.
Change the Description of a widget
1. Click in the Description text field and add or edit content.
2. Click Apply to save the change and close the dialog box.
Other changeable information
Depending on widget content, other changes may be available. Widgets make available lists from which to configure the display, for example, to select a time period within which to collect data.
1. Click the drop-down (arrow-down) button to view available options.
2. Select an option from the list.
3. Click Apply to save the change.
Change Layout
Edit Dashboard
The Change Layout action on the dashboard page require that the dashboard is in edit mode.
Change the Title of the Dashboard Page
The default title of the page is "Dashboard." You can personalize it to read whatever you want, for example, "Bill's Dashboard" or "My Status."
1. If the dashboard page is not in edit mode, click the Edit Mode button on the Dashboard title bar.
2. Click the Edit Dashboard (Cog) button on the Dashboard title bar.
3. Click in the Title text field and edit the current content.
4. Click Close to save the change and close the modal window.
Change the Dashboard Page Layout
You can change the structure of the dashboard display—how the widgets line up in the content space.
The column widths are adjustable, which affect the presentation of the widget content. There are several options available for displaying the widgets in the content frame.
1. If the dashboard page is not in edit mode, click the Edit button on the Dashboard title bar.
2. Click the Edit Dashboard (Cog) button on the Dashboard title bar.
The total width of the content frame is a measurement of x. The options for changing the layout are x (a row of a single column) and rows of two or three columns, which together equal 12 in width. Wider columns display more information on the screen. The default layout is
1. Select a new structure for the content frame.
2. Click the Close button to retain the new layout.

Personalizing Your Dashboard and Widgets
Move a Widget
You can move a widget from one location on the Dashboard to another.
1. If the dashboard page is not in edit mode, click the Edit Mode button on the Dashboard title bar. The control buttons become available on the widget title bar.
2. Click and hold the Change Widget Location (cross) icon and drag the widget to the new spot in the Dashboard content frame.
Remove a Widget
You can remove a widget from your dashboard. The action does not delete the widget from the system, it hides the widget from view.
1. If the dashboard page is not in edit mode, click the Edit Mode button on the Dashboard title bar. The control buttons become available on the widget title bar.
2. Click the Remove Widget (X) icon to hide the widget from display. The widget will not appear again until you add it.
Sort the Widget List
Arrange and locate content using Sort. Sort is available in each data column of a widget.
To re-sort the order in which multiple items display in the list, click the down-arrow in the column heading to open the selection box. The list reorders using the selected column as the sort-by data type.
To show the list without the column, click Hide Column.
View and Page Change the Display List Length
You can change the number of items that appears in a widget list. By default, the list panel displays five items at a time. You can change the display to 10 or 25 items.
Navigate pages in the widget using to Go To arrows: > and >| to move ahead, < and |< to move backward.
Note: This change is available at any time. It is not necessary to enable the dashboard edit mode.
Refresh Widget Content
Use the Reload (refresh) action to update content with the latest information.
1. Click the Reload The widget content will refresh the latest information.

Linking from the Widget List
Each item on the widget list is presented as hypertext. Use it to open the details of the selected item.
1. Click the selected item from the list to open the detail page.
Note: The hypertext is available to open tasks and requests from the dashboard. Links are active on the item number/ID and Title. Tasks also link to associated request(s).
